With regard to Hungarian and EU professional qualifications recognised in the UK and recognition procedures already begun by the day of the withdrawal, UK authorities will continue to recognise them on the basis of the procedures prescribed in EU law. In the case of applications submitted from the day of the withdrawal onwards, the use of the EU directive will cease, and the UK national legislation will ensure that the recognition of qualifications at the same level and with the same content as UK diplomas will take place within the framework of a general system. However, in the case of non-equivalent qualifications, the proposed national legislation will not oblige the authorities to eliminate shortages through compensatory measures, or to ensure partial access to continue professional activities. The proposed measures will guarantee discretional rights to the regulators of certain professions in order to handle and take into account non-equivalent professional qualifications.
